Qualified Experts - All of our employees are experienced qualified Chartered Governance Professionals who specialise in board reviews. We will never send a non-qualified reviewer to conduct the work.

Our Approach - We don’t view board reviews as a box ticking exercise. We aim to become your trusted advisors and “critical friend”. We focus on the adding value through the external board review process and always offer advice, insights and solutions in our review findings. We will always be constructive rather than “reprimanding” in our approach to board performance reviews.

Code of Practice - As members in practice of ACCA and CIMA, we are regulated by their byelaws and Code of Professional Ethics. We adhere to the byelaws and code of ethics at all times when conducting our work. We also adhere to the Chartered Governance institute's "Code of Practice for board reviewers"

Founder of Sport Gov Pro

Johnathan (Johny) Akinyemi is the founder of Sport Gov Pro and is the senior Governance Professional at the organisation. Johny has a wealth of experience as a governance and accountancy professional and is both a Chartered Governance Professional and Chartered Certified Accountant.

Outside of his professional career, Johny competed in the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics in the sport of Canoe Slalom. Johny has a deep rooted passion for sport and the sport sector.

Fellow and Member in Practice of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Msc in Accounting and Finance from Manchester Metropolitan University.
BA hons in Philosophy and Theology from the University of Nottingham.

Two time Olympian having competed in the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics in the sport of Canoe Slalom.
